The Central Kentucky Economic Empowerment Project, or CKEEP, is led by the United Way of the Bluegrass. They are hosting a seminar dedicated to tax preparation for low-income families.
Partnering with the IRS, they want to help raise awareness about the Earned Income Tax Credit. They also want to help families build assets for the future.
CKEEP’s goal with seminars like this are to make households that are eligible, aware of such credits and to help them learn how to claim without having to pay for tax preparation and filing services.
For the past tax season, CKEEP sites helped return $4.2 million back to Central Kentucky families.
The seminar is on Saturday, February 29 from 9 am until 3 pm at the Lexington Senior Center.
